Intensive and qualified work of the medical staff makes it possible to perform a large amount of operations with a wide range of surgery. More than 670, 000 of microsurgical operations, hundreds of thousands examinations and consultations were performed for the time that Clinic exists. Advanced level of Medical Services attracts patients not only from St. Petersburg, its provinces, other regions of Russia, and patients from the territory of the former USSR, but also from Germany, USA, Finland, Yugoslavia, Italy, Serbia, and other countries.

Each year more than a half of ophthalmologic services in St. Petersburg are performed by St. Petersburg Branch of S. Fyodorov’s Eye Microsurgery Clinic.

Our Branch offers:

• full diagnostic examination of an eye according to different parameters with the results of the operation presumably estimated by computer;
• surgical treatment of ocular diseases: cataract, glaucoma, myopia (including progressive one), hyperopia, astigmatism, retinal detachment, cornea diseases, haziness of the vitreous body, consequences of ocular trauma, children ocular diseases;
• laser vision correction (hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism)
• surgical correction of hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism with femtosecond and excimer lasers;
• laser treatment for retinal diseases, glaucoma, secondary cataract, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration;
• spectacle and contact lenses fitting, production;
• laboratory blood test, including hepatitis and AIDS, cultures and tests from conjunctiva;
• accommodation in a comfortable hotel with a wide range of services;
• ophthalmologic residency training at Clinic or training as a short-term assignment, training in WETLAB laboratory.

Elite Clinic for Everyone

Operating Module is equipped with an absolute air-purifying system. Five rooms are equipped with the latest surgical microscopes and compound foreign and native machinery. Each operating table has a special monitor to look after the patients during the operation. Group of experienced anesthetists is working together with surgeons providing all kinds of local and general anesthetic.

Over 100 operations are performed in operating rooms daily.

IRTC “Eye Microsurgery” is a part of Compulsory Medical Insurance System which allows socially non-protected Russian patients to get ophthalmological help for free.

Scientific Research – a Key to Success

5 Doctors of Medicine, 17 Candidates of Medical Sciences, and 45 ophthalmologists of the highest degree are working at St. Petersburg Branch of S. Fyodorov’s “Eye Microsurgery” Federal State Institution. Introduction of the latest technologies and the large amount of medical services provided for population allowed to intensify the scientific process. Our staff has issued 50 monographs and 613 scientific articles, defended 28 thesis’s, received 104 invention certificates, and are constantly taking part in international projects and scientific conferences.

Education in our clinic

Since 1996 St. Petersburg Branch is a clinical site for the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov. Every year we arrange 10 certification courses and 2 specialized training courses for doctors. Since 2010 our Branch started its own education activity.
